Privacy Policy

Scholr is a scholarship search and tracking tool for students. We collect the details you give us when you create an account and set up your profile, plus a record of the scholarships you save or mark as applied. We use that information to run your account and show you scholarships that fit your plans. We do not sell your data, and we never apply to scholarships on your behalf.

• Account details. Your email address, and your name if you provide it. If you sign up with email and password, your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
• Profile and onboarding answers. Details you enter when setting up or editing your profile, such as your current education status, last institute, city, degree interest, preferred countries, and phone number if you choose to add one, along with answers to any onboarding questions we ask.
• Scholarship activity. Which scholarships you save and which ones you mark as applied, with the date you did so.
• Feedback. The subject and message of any feedback you send us through Scholr, linked to your account so we can follow up.

We do not ask for your passport, transcripts, financial documents, or any application paperwork. Those go directly to the scholarship provider on their own website.

If you choose “Continue with Google”, we request only the basic sign-in scopes: openid, email, and profile. In practice that means we receive your name and email address so we can create and identify your Scholr account without you managing another password.

We do not request or receive access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, your contacts, or any other Google service. You can disconnect Scholr at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

• To create your account, sign you in, and keep you signed in securely.
• To personalise what you see, so the scholarships and filters match your degree goals and preferred countries.
• To power your dashboard, including your saved list and applied tracking.
• To understand how Scholr is used in aggregate and improve the product, for example by seeing which countries or degree levels students look for most.
• To respond to your feedback or support emails, and to send essential account emails such as sign-in confirmation or password reset.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not run ad trackers on Scholr.

Scholr uses Supabase for authentication and for our PostgreSQL database, which is where your account, profile, saved and applied scholarships, and feedback are stored. Our app is hosted by our hosting provider, which processes requests so pages can be served to you.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to operate Scholr.

We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you signed in. When you log in, our authentication provider sets a session cookie so you do not have to re-enter your credentials on every page. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

If you block these cookies, signing in and staying signed in will not work. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings, or by signing out.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with scholarship providers, universities, or agents, and we never submit applications on your behalf.

We share data only in these cases:

• With the service providers described above, purely so Scholr can function.
• When we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid legal request.

When you open a scholarship’s official website from Scholr, you leave Scholr and that site’s own privacy policy applies. We do not pass any of your Scholr information to them.

We keep your information for as long as your account exists, so your profile, saved list, and applied history stay available to you.

You can edit or clear most of your profile details yourself from your Scholr profile page, and you can unsave scholarships or remove applied marks at any time.

To delete your account and the data attached to it, email support@scholr.pk from the address you signed up with. We will confirm and delete your account, profile, onboarding answers, saved and applied records, and feedback. Backup copies may persist for a short period before they rotate out.

Sign-in and password handling are managed by our authentication provider, traffic to Scholr is encrypted in transit, and access to your data is restricted to your own signed-in account. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us if you notice anything suspicious about your account.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
